President Tamara Peterson called the special meeting of the Board of Education of Bloomingdale Elementary District 13 to order on Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Lilac Room of Eaglewood Resort, 1401 Nordic Road, Itasca, Illinois at 7:57 p.m.

Closed Session
A motion was made by Dr. Litchfield and seconded by Mrs. Birkley to enter into closed session to discuss the employment of personnel for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057.

The Board returned to regular session at 9:10 p.m.

The Board discussed the employment of a search firm to find a new superintendent. The Board expressed the desire to hear proposals from three search firms who could do an expedited search for a superintendent. The Board would like to hear from the search firms with presentations of approximately 15 minutes each during the June 2011 board meeting, with the intent to post the superintendent’s vacancy by August 1, and for the Board to begin interviewing candidates by no later than October of 2011.
