Helen is a 5th grade student and big sister to Walter in first grade.
Throughout Helen's years at Erickson each teacher would say that Helen is so very kind, works well with everyone, and is an overall joy to have in class.
She puts extra effort into all her work and creates quality products. She is creative and puts detail into her thinking. She is able to elaborate to show her understanding.
Helen is responsible and completes all her work in a timely manner. She is a student every teacher would love to have in their class!
One of Helen's more important roles is being an amazing big sister to Walter, 1st grade at Erickson, and Dori, 1st grade at DuJardin. Helen has been such a positive role model to her little brother and sister and everyone at Erickson is so proud of her!
Walter, her little brother, always has a smile on his face and has such a positive outlook on life.
Walter has Type I Diabetes, which can be quite inconvenient with constant check-ins with the nurse or when deciding what food to eat. But he doesn't look at it that way!
Walter looks at his trips to the nurse as a social outing to check in with everyone along the way. And he always does this with a smile on his face!
His teachers stated that Walter always has a joke on hand and can make anyone laugh. He gets excited even about the little things, which in turn, rubs off on his classmates and helps to create a fun, positive classroom environment.
He reminds all the adults in the building of what is important in life as we all strive to be more positive like Walter.
